Aldai MP Marianne Kitany was on Wednesday evicted from the home of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.

The MP confirmed the eviction, adding that the process was carried out despite her having a court order barring it.

"Despite the orders barring CS Linturi, he has gone ahead to break the door and they are packing my things away," she said.

The order was issued on February 15, by Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni.

"Upon perusing the application and the supporting affidavit sworn by Jebet Kittany, it is hereby ordered that the stay of execution for the orders issued by this court on February 7,2023, is hereby granted pending the directions of the court on February 22," the order reads.

The court had on Monday given auctioneers the green light to evict Kitany from the Runda home.

The magistrate directed the OCS Runda police station to provide security to the auctioneers to effect the eviction.

"That the OCS Runda police station or any other officer from the station of the rank above assistant inspector of police be and hereby ordered to provide security and police assistance in evicting Maryanne Kitany from House no 16 Ridge County Villas in Runda Estate," Micheni ruled.

Kittany and Linturi have been in a protracted court battle over the property with the lawmaker claiming to have contributed almost the whole value of the house.
