Azimio leader Raila Odinga will on Saturday lead the Azimio brigade for the anti-government rally in Kisumu.
Azimio has been holding a series of countrywide rallies to pile pressure on President William Ruto's administration which the outfit has branded as illegitimate.
The Star established that on Saturday, Raila will first hold a consultative forum with leaders from Nyanza before holding the rally at Kisumu’s Moi stadium.
Raila will be joined by other leaders from the Azimio brigade.
On Friday, the Azimio coalition held a rally in Kisii where Raila defended the former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, saying he is ready to fight for him.
Raila claimed the government was planning to plant weapons at Matiang'i home when they allegedly tried to raid his Karen home recently.
“I have seen they have started to crack down on Matiang'i and wanted to plant some things in his house so that they would arrest him, this is a man who served the country and should be respected,” he said.
Raila said that the people of Keroka have agreed to back him in his quest for justice.
"They have urged us to soldier on for them and other Kenyans and we have assured them that there is no turning back," he said.
The opposition chief made stopovers at Kisii-Sotik Road and Keroka.
The Kisumu rally will mark Azimio's seventh anti-government rally.
