Fresh details of the cash crisis threatening to cripple nearly all public universities have emerged amid revelations the institutions have Sh61 billion pending debts.
Government documents tabled in Parliament and exclusively obtained by the Star show that universities continue to wallow in debt and have accumulated Sh8 billion pending bills in the last one year.
