All eyes are on Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as Azimio begins mass action against President William Ruto.
Kalonzo has previously kept off mass action calls by the opposition parties and even snubbed a key Raila 'oathing'' ceremony after the 2017 polls.
The Wiper boss had on March 30, 2018 skipped Raila's swearing in as the 'people's president' despite the ceremony having bee postponed twice to accommodate him.
Then other NASA principals Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi were also missing as Raila ‘took oath’ at Uhuru Park.
Kalonzo was expected to take oath with Raila since the presidency is a joint ticket of president and deputy president.
After taking "oath' Raila said the event marked the end of electoral injustice in Kenya, adding that Kalonzo would be ‘sworn-in’ at a later date.
Like now, the opposition had rejected to recognise Uhuru Kenyatta as president of Kenya after he was declared winner of the October 26 repeat election.
The opposition postponed the swearing in the previous year on Jamhuri Day, explaining that they had to wait for Kalonzo who was in Germany.
In subsequent interviews, Kalonzo would tell the media that police had blocked a road to his residence, making his exit impossible.
“I am cognizant of the anxiety Nasa supporters have after I failed to show up for the oathing ceremony, which saw Mr. Odinga being sworn in as the people’s president. I did not show up for the fete because of reasons now known to the public,” Kalonzo had said.
“On Monday night after we, Nasa principals, had met at a city establishment, Raila deemed it wise not to spend the night at his Karen home. On my side, I proceeded to my home in Karen, where I spent the night.”
Kalonzo had however on Sunday affirmed that he will participate in Monday's mass action.
His office dismissed as fake reports that Kalonzo would skip the protests.
The communications lead of the Kalonzo Command Centre Paloma Gatabaki denied the reports.
"Our attention has been drawn to this image circulating in social media using Kenyans.co.ke frame. This is FAKE NEWS" the tweet read.
"Kalonzo Musyoka's stance is clear and unequivocal: Lower the cost of living and end electoral malpractice. No amount of intimidation will alter our stand."
