He was arrested along Uhuru Highway on his way to deliver the documents to State House, a restricted area and the president's official residence.

"Nasikia vizuri sana niko free (I feel so nice I'm free)" he said upon walking out of the Central Police Station.

In a video posted by content creator Vincent Mboya, Omondi was seen being driven away by businessman Gor Semelang'o to Kenya National Theatre a few meters away.

He said he must deliver the CVs to the scheduled destination on Wednesday.

"Hizo ma-CV, tutazipeleka (We must deliver those CVs)" he said.

The comedian-turned-activist was first arrested on February 21 on Parliament Way while leading protests against the rising cost of living.

He was nabbed alongside 17 others and later charged in court with unlawful assembly. The case will be heard in May.

Omondi was on March 1 arrested again while distributing maize flour to his supporters at City Stadium in Nairobi.

He was released unconditionally on March 6.
