Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said President William Ruto stands to benefit if he will ace the many responsibilities the president has given him.
He listed the roles assigned to him by the President saying he is busy and can barely cope.
"I am an extremely busy person I can hardly cope. The President has given me a budget and every necessary support that I need and all that is to his benefit because he is the president. He is the one who has the mandate from the people of Kenya, "he said.
"When I make his work easier he is the winner."
The DP said he is in charge of coordinating implementations from the cabinet.
He said he is also in charge of Inter-governmental decisions and chairs the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC).
Gachagua said his other roles include coordinating development partners and being in charge of constitution commissions and Independent offices.
He added that he is in charge of the Nairobi River Commission.
"A long the way, the President has added me coffee, reforms tea and milk and of course any other functions assigned by him," he said.
He added that taking up responsibilities is what a clever person does.
Gachagua spoke on Wednesday during a forum with deputy governors in Mombasa.
