If Ruto lost to Raila, I'd be in Kamiti Prison – DP Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says that if President William Ruto had lost the August 2022 presidential election, he would be in Prison.

Speaking on Thursday, Gachagua said that he would have been serving his fifth month as an inmate.

"If William Ruto had lost in my scheme, and I know I'm right, I would be serving the fifth month in Kamiti right now. All these people would not be here," he said.

Gachagua who had attended the launch of Defence CS Aden Duale's book added that a strong team was formed because of the persecution meted against them by the former regime.

He said the team, had a great resolve to succeed.

The DP said the day retired President Uhuru Kenyatta will grant him an audience, he will thank him for sacking the people who are now part of Ruto's government.

"One of these days, when President Uhuru Kenyatta gets time and compassion to give an audience, I will thank him for chasing away these people because by doing so he created a solid team that had a great resolve to succeed."

Gachagua insisted that the current government is the making of Uhuru.

He said his actions propelled Ruto to the presidency.

"Money was offered left right and centre for the betrayal of President William Ruto but people said no."
