Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has explained why he lost his Twitter blue badge.

According to the lawyer, he did not commit any violations to lose the badge.

The lawyer was responding to his Friend Makau Mutua who had asked what he did to lose the badge.

"I see Twitter has yanked TwitterBlue from my BFF Ahmednasir again! Pray, what crime has GM committed? Why has he been deemed unworthy?"

Ahmednasir said the social platforms take time to verify a user once one changes their profile picture.

The process includes losing the blue badge verification mark. This is part of the new rules introduced by Elon Musk since buying the platform.

"Prof, why are you obsessed with my Twitter account? Contrary to your ill will, obsessions & prayers to oracles nothing sinister occurred vis a vis my blue tick. Twitter takes time to verify every time one changes his profile picture or other infor...just a new photo...," he said.

In April, Twitter phased out all legacy blue badges, a move that saw all verified users lose the badge.

After a few days, however, the platform returned the badges to users with over a million followers.

Most of them had fallen victim to fake accounts. The most hit were Kenyan media houses.

The platform announced last year, that users will now pay a monthly fee under Twitter Blue to have the badge (blue checkmark).

"On April 1, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks," Twitter said.
