First Lady Rachael Ruto on Thursday met 118 women who beautified the State House by planting grass.
In a statement, Mama Rachael said they exchanged valuable skills and insights on table banking, capacity building and personal development.
"We must seize every opportunity to share our lessons and encourage other women on how they can better their livelihoods and the livelihoods of their communities," she said.
"As she grows and thrives, she becomes a catalyst for positive change within her family, her community and beyond."
The First Lady added that when a woman is empowered, she becomes financially independent contributing to the economic growth of her community.
Mama Rachael said that a woman gains the confidence and resources to pursue her dreams and aspirations when they are helped in society.
"She becomes a beacon of inspiration, a guiding light for others, instilling in them the belief that they too can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness," she added.
She added that by empowering a woman, the whole community gets inspired.
Mama Rachael added that women are the backbone of society, and their empowerment has a ripple effect that touches every aspect of community life.
