Police teargas Azimio supporters along Jogoo Road on July 7,2023.

The procession to Central Park by defiant supporters of Azimio chief Raila Odinga is one characterised by tears.

The supporters have been braving teargas from police who are seemingly working to block the crowd's path to Naiobi's Central Business District.

Live footage as of 2:10 pm shows clouds of teargas and demonstrators trying to cover their faces to reduce the effects.

They are walking out of the Kamukunji area towards Gikomba where they hope to access the roads leading to CBD.

Some are seen covering the canisters with their sweaters to block the gas inside.

The supporters quickly recover after getting water to neutralise the gas's effects.

At some point, someone is heard asking the police officers to follow the law.

"Mfuate sheria na msitumiwe vibaya tafadhali," he says.

At Kamukunji grounds, Raila ordered his supporters to use whichever way possible to get to Central Park.

"There are many ways to reach 'Rome', when they block one road, we use another. Today, our 'Rome' is called Central Park, that is where we shall meet after the Kamukunji rally," he said.

The Opposition leader also urged the demonstrators to embrace peace in their journey.

At 2:36 pm, the procession was at Ngara.
