Cabinet Secretary for Transport Kipchumba  Murkomen will on Thursday tour Expressway to access damages caused during the Azimio protests.

Protesters on Wednesday pulled down the Expressway barrier near Mlolongo.

They were seen pulling the barrier by force to remove it.

The fate of 600 to be determined

More than 600 people have been arrested and detained at various police stations in Nairobi during Wednesday’s anti-government protests.

Across the country, more than 10 people were shot and killed and dozens were injured in the confrontations that broke out for the better part of the day.

In Nairobi, police are interrogating and sorting out the individuals to know the kind of charges to prefer against them, if any.

Court to decide fate of accused in Sh3.5b Anglo leasing case

Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku is expected to deliver a ruling on whether accused persons in the Sh3.5 billion Anglo leasing scandal have a case to answer.

The lead investigator in the Anglo leasing case has maintained that Sound Day Corporation, the entity contracted to supply police security equipment to the Kenyan state was a ghost company.

Tecra death inquest to proceed 

The Tecra death inquest will proceed today for a hearing.

Tecra, the daughter of Keroche Breweries boss Tabitha Karanja, died on May 2, 2020, at the Nairobi Hospital after she allegedly fell down steep stairs at a house in Lamu.

Her then-boyfriend Omar Lali was arrested and kept in custody but the DPP dropped the murder case against him in July and ordered an inquest.
