Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has urged Azimio La Umoja Leader Raila Odinga to call off the anti-government protests.
Guyo said that destruction from the demos was contributing to the high cost of living due to the loss of money and damage of properties.
Speaking in Isiolo over the weekend Guyo said that the weekly demos were also deteriorating the economy of the country at a time when the government is trying to stabilize it.
“Maandamano (protests) are not the solution to the high cost of living,” he said.
Guyo urged the Azimio leadership to find an alternative way of addressing the high cost of living instead of protests.
"Here in Isiolo, we are not going to hold protests.Tulisema sisi wakaaji wa Isiolo hatuna urafiki na maandamano. We only have space for development related events," he added.

The Governor despite admitting that the cost of living has gone high, however said that mandamano was not the solution.
The County boss further called on Raila to retire from politics and let the government of the day work for Kenyans.
"I’m requesting Raila because we assisted him in looking for votes, but he was rejected. He should now retire and let the government work," Guyo added.
The former Matopeni MCA also told the Opposition to give the Kenya Kwanza time to work.
Guyo said that President William Ruto should be given the time to deliver his manifesto.
"I want to tell Raila Odinga to give the government time to work in the next five years, then you come and criticize the president on the promises that he didn't achieve," he said.
Guyo is among Isiolo leaders who recently joined the United Democratic Alliance Party.
The Governor said he is ready for a by-election after leaving Jubilee party.
Guyo was the only Jubilee elected Governor in the August 2022 general elections.
