President William Ruto has told off those who are opposing the Finance Act, of 2023 saying it is key in his plan to implement his development agenda.
The head of state said with the Finance Act, of 2023, will help him roll out development projects in Kenya and create much-needed employment.
"I am just urging those who are opposing the Finance Act to stop so that we move as a nation," President Ruto said.
The head of state was speaking in Mbale town, Vihiga county.
He was in vihiga county to launch a water project that was initially launched by former Water CS Ciclly Kiaruki who served under President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.
"We are collaborating with development partners to bring the water action agenda to life in our country. This deliberate coordination, coupled with sustainable investment in resilient infrastructure, will guarantee everyone access to safe water for human consumption and sanitation," Ruto said.
Jointly funded by Kenya and Belgium, the Sh625 Million Project will ensure sufficient supply of clean water to the more than 400,000 households in Kaimosi, Chavakali, Mbale, Maseno and Luanda.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah, MPs Ernest Ogesi (Vihiga), Sloya Clement (Sabatia), Omboko Milemba (Emuhaya), COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, among other leaders, were present.
Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, an ardent supporter of Azimio leader Raila Odinga, was absent.
Osotsi has been missing in action since Friday with reports claiming that he was arrested by unknown security agents during CIDP launch at Sosa hotel.
Area County commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo, however, said he had no details of Osotsi being arrested.
"I have no details of Vihiga senator Godfrey Osotsi being arrested," Kitiyo said.
Speaking earlier, Osotsi had hinted of plans to have him arrested.
"We are in a democratic nation why should be chased like a criminal?" He questioned.
