A tough-talking President William Ruto on Tuesday didn't mince his words as he lectured officers in his administration.

Ruto said he won't allow himself to go down in books as another President who just made empty promises.

" It will not be business as usual because I made a pact with Kenyans to deliver services to them and your failure will reflect on me. I won't allow that," he added.

The President further explained he knows the fear Kenyans have is failure of the government to properly utilise their taxes.

Ruto said that he gets feedback from Kenyans on how they view the government and the pledges it made during campaigns.

"For a very long time we have made campaign pledges not really meaning them. People have been pointing fingers at the politicians that don't fulfill their pledges. I want to say that my administration will change the culture of fake promises," he added.

The President further stated that the Kenya Kwanza administration is fully committed to the implementations contained in the bottom-up economic model.

"Some Kenyans are suspicious that we are reviewing revenue measures and won't fulfill. I wish to categorically clear any confusion and that I will deliver,  Ruto added.

Addressing the Principal Secretaries and directors, the Head of state vowed that he will not allow lazy officers and misuse of funds and at the departments.

Ruto narrated a story of a corrupt woman who could not get fired from the government under the Ministry of Transport.

He said such officers in his reign have no place in his government.

"There was one lady in the transport department who was corrupt but could not be fired.  But that will not happen," Ruto said.

The President made it clear that he will hold all state officers into account and will deal with those who break the law.

"There are some people hearing the projects the gov't wants to undertake and think it is their opportunity to embezzle money. I want to tell them eyeball to eyeball, this will not happen. It will not be business as usual. There is no money to steal. There is only money to deliver on the aspirations of the people," Ruto said.

"I shall hold all of you to account. I shall deal with cases of negligence and misappropriation of funds, embezzlement, forgery, theft, and misconduct in relation to public resources. You are hereby duly notified," he added.
