National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has encouraged youths to seek job opportunities in the international market.

Speaking on Friday at Mount Kenya University's 23rd graduation, Wetang'ula said that during his trips abroad, he has met many Kenyan investors.

He said that Kenyans have the capacity to adapt everywhere in the world.

"As we cry back home that there are no jobs, opportunities are many out there let's grab them. You visit our neighbours Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi everywhere the hospitality industries are managed by Kenyans," he said.

He said the state will continuously support the education sector to raise the standards of education.

"We will ensure that the sector receives enough resources to mitigate challenges facing innovation, science, and education. For the first time, CDF, and NGAAF funds were released in full," he said.

"I urge the graduates to embrace innovation and self-determination which will help them in ‘swinging doors’ in their favour.  Education is not confined to formal institutions; it is a lifelong journey of learning and growth."

He reminded the graduates that education is not merely a pursuit for personal gain but a means to contribute positively to society and the world at large.

"Having been granted opportunities through education, I challenged them to make it their primary goal to uplift those less fortunate in the society," Wetang'ula said.
