Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday morning took his signature early morning walk while in Nyeri.

The DP who was in his home area, Mathira said he interacted with residents.

"Took an early morning walk, as I love to do when in the village in Mathira, Nyeri County, in the company of my wife Pastor Dorcas, to interact with nature and the people along the way," Gachagua said.

The walk however according to the DP was significant as it came on the day his boss was holding a church service at Sagana State Lodge.

"Today's walk was particularly significant. Our President, William Ruto who is in Mt Kenya Region for a five-day working tour- is hosting a special thanksgiving interdenominational service at the neighbouring Sagana State Lodge," Gachagua added.

The DP said that Ruto  unlike his predecessors has opened the lodge to everyone including hustlers to join him in thanking God for His goodness.

"It is an appreciation of God's deeds upon our Nation as we look forward to a good harvest this year," Gachagua said.

He emphasized that implementation of Kenya Kwanza's plan for a better Kenya will only be possible with focus and God's intervention.

President William Ruto on Sunday held an  Interdenominational service at  Sagana State Lodge.

This is the first time since he was sworn in as President on September 13, 2023 to be at the State Lodge.

State lodges are places used by the President of Kenya for official and private functions.

Equipped with state-of-the-art security features, State lodges offer a variety of amenities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, and golf courses.

Besides Kisii, the others are in Eldoret, Kisumu and Kakamega, with the Sagana one being the most used.

Initially, Sagana was a royal residence of the British monarchy, considered among the gifts that Kenya had bestowed the late Queen Elizabeth following her wedding to Prince Philip.

However, when Kenya gained independence in December 1963, the late Queen handed the lodge back to the Kenyan government.

Sagana has had a rich history with  Kenya’s last three Presidents.
