Swahili version of Governance of China book launched

People all over the world will understand the historical and cultural background of the development.

The President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has launched a Swahili version book of the Governance of China (Volume I).

The ceremony which took place on Monday at the University of Nairobi was attended by various dignitaries including Tourism and Wildlife CS Peninah Malonza and Minister of Tourism and Culture of China Hu Heping.

According to Heping, the book which contains 586 pages, explains the governance of China, the implementation of CBC and illustrates Chinese people's knowledge of building a better world.

"The 'Governance of China' book by President Xi Jinping can help readers and international communities across the world understand China and CBC education," Heping said.

"We have learnt that many countries including the people of Kenya are very keen to know about the experience of China's developments and are following closely on the philosophy and practices of the Chinese leadership.

"Through this book, people all over the world will understand the historical and cultural background of the development path of China."

Malonza praised the great move saying China has gifted Kenya a portal into the corridors of power and wisdom.

"In our relentless fossil of stronger ties, Kenya and China have embarked upon many cultural exchanges naturing a vibrant people-to-people dialogue through the prints of hearts and culture," she said.

"It is through such exchanges that we discover our shared humanity transiting geographical boundaries to celebrate the many shades of many expressions."

She added that culture is a beacon that shows the harmonized blend of heritage not only a linguistic collaboration but a harmonic cultural dance and a symposium of diplomacy.

"As a guide of our intangible cultural treasures, we embark on a journey of shared learning. As we turn the pages of history, many public and private collaborations flourish creating a mixture of culture and tourism that captures the world's gaze," Malonza said.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu who also participated in the launch said, Kenya can borrow from China programs and their education, to enhance the CBC curriculum implemented in the country.

"Our country can easily borrow from the programs undertaken including how the People's Republic of China has been able to achieve better education of bearers of its citizens," Machogu said.

"The Ministry of Education through the Kenya Literature Bureau is committed to enhancing an inspiring society both within and across borders, by producing this publication that promotes educational and cultural values."

He added that the book will enable speakers to understand the social understanding and undertakings that are led by President Jinping.

"There are many lessons to be learnt from President Jinping and his writing and we look forward to learning and interacting more often," he said.

Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Zhou Pingjian reiterated that the power of language can never be emphasized.

"The four volumes of Xi Jinping have opened a window for the international communities to understand China better," Pingjian said.

"The readership of the Kiswahili edition in Kenya and beyond with surely see clearer and see more through that window on behalf of the China Embassy in Nairobi.

He added that China needs to know about the world just like the world needs to know about China.

"I believe it will give our Kenyan friends a better understanding of the Chinese governance, philosophy and domestic and foreign policies."
