Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Thursday hosted the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Pingjian.
The meeting which took place at the DP’s official Residence in Karen was also attended by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Cleophas Malala.
Gachagua said the meeting was aimed at discussing partnerships and strengthening the structures of UDA for posterity.
“Strong political parties entrenched in firm ideals of good governance and development propel nations to prosperity,” Gachagua said.
The DP further noted that UDA had a lot to learn from the Communist Party of China (CPC) in a journey to build it into a party of the century beyond elections.
“This will enhance political stability and predictability in addition to nurturing our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda ideology,” he said.
“The ruling CPC is a century-old political organisation whose leadership has propelled the country to economic prosperity.”
Last month, Malala said UDA will be Kenya's largest political party by registration in 2027.
Malala said the party is gradually registering members including a bid number registered with opposition parties.
The recruitment drive, Malala said, targets aims at making the political outfit the largest in the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President’s mission, he said is to transform the country and make Kenya an admirable nation not only in East Africa but also in Africa and the world.
