Narok governor Patrick Ole Ntutu has told Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga to keep off  Narok politics.

Ntutu said that it is disrespectful for a leader of Raila's magnitude to utter derogatory words against him when he was in Narok over the weekend.

"It is wrong for an elder, age mate of my father to start insulting me and he should remember that respect is a two-way thing," said Ntutu.

He made the remarks at Limanet slaughterhouse where an industrial park and milk processing plant will be put in the Narok North sub-county on Monday.

In attendance were Narok North MP Agnes Pareiyo, Deputy Governor Tamalinye Koech, Narok County Commissioner Isaac Masinde, and several MCAs among other leaders.

The county boss said they are tired of politics which undermine development and cause divisions among their residents.

"We will not accept leaders who are pursuing their interests to come and spread lies to our people," he said.

The governor faulted the opposition leader for failing to initiate any meaningful projects for the Maa community when he was in power.

"When you came to Narok, you brought nothing to our people in terms of development. Your only agenda is to attack leaders and propaganda," said the county chief.

Ntutu said the Maa people are now wiser and have realized Raila's lies and they will never support him anymore.

"As leaders and all the communities in Narok, we have agreed to work with President William Ruto's administration because is a development-oriented person unlike Raila who has nothing to provide for us and Kenyans at all," he remarked.

The county boss also revealed that the president will be in the county next month, when he will launch these projects and others so that the economic status of the locals will change.

He defended the move by Raila claiming that he never won the gubernatorial contest against former Narok North MP Moitalel ole Kenta in the last polls saying the opposition chief is daydreaming.

"I won the elections in a free and fair manner and these leaders have always been living in denial. Raila should also accept the fact that he was beaten by Raila because that has always been his trend since 1997 up to the 2022 polls," said Ntutu.

On Sunday while attending the housewarming ceremony for ODM vice Christine Lemein in Narok, Raila accused Ntutu of frustrating and interfering with the ODM party.

He also said that the county boss was using his position to rubber stamp his election that had been contested.

Pareiyo denied that Ruto has interests in Mau land saying the remarks were aimed at tarnishing the name of the head of state.

"Ruto has ensured that a fence is put around the Mau forest and that show is concerned about the conservation of all forests. The Maa people have decided to back him so that he can realise the agenda he has for Kenyans," said the legislator.

On his part, Masinde warned the leaders opposing the construction of an industrial park and milk processing plant in the Limanet area, saying that they would not allow politics to distract the government’s agenda.

"Nobody will be allowed in this land to hold meetings whose intention is to oppose the government projects. These leaders should know this is government land," said Masinde.

He added that the Kenya Kwanza administration is committed to ensuring that all the lives of the people are improved and uplifted.

The county commissioner denied claims by Raila that invaders have returned to Mau forest after they were evicted.

"No one has returned to Mau forest and as the government we are committed to conserving it. Already, we have planted more than 4.2 million seedlings in the forest," said Masinde.

Raila had said that the government is non-committed to the conservation of the environment and it is sad that the illegal encroachers have returned to the forest since the new administration took over the power.

Narok North ODM chairman Maranka Ole Otuni said the Maasai community have been in the cold for a long time and it is time for them to join the government.

"We have not been supporting the government but this time around we made a turn to back the Kenya Kwanza administration," said Otuni.
