Eli Khumundu, Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor's employee has said he sought redemption from Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Centre  in Kilifi after he fell into temptation.

Jalang'o on Sunday last week reinstated Eli as his casual saying he forgave him and his colleague Morrison Litiema over a year after they stole from him and went into hiding.

Speaking to online news channel 2mbili TV, Eli said he got back his job after visiting Ezekiel's church for prayers and anointing.

He said a friend offered him transport and offertory and advised him to seek the pastor's help.

"Nilienda pale Kilifi kwa kanisa ya Pastor Ezekiel inaitwa New Life and Church Prayer Centre nikatoa sadaka na kurudishiwa 'nyota' yangu. Amenisaidia kimaombi. Wale walikuwa wameibia nyota yangu na kunipatia pepo ya tamaa watapata tabu san," he said.

Eli revealed that Pastor Ezekiel gave him a face towel and  holy water to bring back his 'star'.

On June 4, 2022, Jalang'o offered Sh100,000 to anyone who would provide him with information that would lead to the arrest of Eli and Litiema after he accused them of theft.

"This morning [Saturday], Eli Khumudu and Morris Litiema stole money from the car they were washing at home. Their phones are off and they are running with their families," he wrote on his social media pages.

But on Sunday last week, the MP said he had made peace with the two former employees and reinstated Eli back to his job and a casual worker.

"Eli, karibu kazi (welcome back to work)," the MP said in a video, to which Eli replied, "Asante sana daktari (Thank you so much, doctor)"

"Nimerudi kazi hata Mungu amefurahi sana (I'm back to work even God is very happy," Eli, donned in an apron marked 'Ground Manager'," added.

Eli admitted that they indeed took Sh1 million from Jalang'o's car and shared equally amongst themselves.

"Morrison told me he found new Sh1 million currency notes so we shared Sh500,000 each."

The MP, however, said he lost more but did not reveal the amount.
