Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took an early morning walk in Kisumu County.

Through his X account, the DP said his walk in the city on Monday was an invigorating one.

"The embracing cool and refreshing breeze from Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa is a good reminder of the great natural resources we are endowed with," he said.

Gachagua said it was rejuvenating seeing many in the city up early to go about their daily duties.

"The brisk walk took me through the streets of the City and it was rejuvenating seeing hundreds of early risers, up and about making a living as they build the nation," the DP said.

President William Ruto is expected in Kisumu where he will chair a Cabinet meeting at the Kisumu State Lodge from 8:30 am.

Later on, he will commission MV UHURU II at the Kisumu Shipyard at 11 am and then launch construction of the Bondo-Liunda Road, in Bondo Constituency at 2 pm.
