Police in Kericho have issued a traffic flow update ahead of the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Rift Valley commissioner Abdi Hassan on Thursday announced the measures that motorists will adhere to during the celebrations in Kericho town.
Motorists from Western Kenya to Nairobi will have to divert at Kericho/Muhuroni junction and connect with Fortternan/Londiani road to Nairobi.
Those heading to Western Kenya from Nairobi will follow the same protocol.
Speaking to the media at Sunshine Upper Hill Hotel in Kericho town, Thursday said other motorists within Kericho town have been given guidelines on where to park their vehicles, far away from Kericho Green Stadium which is the venue for the national event.
Hassan said vehicles with red and blue plates would be the only ones allowed to pass through Kericho, with other motorists advised to use alternative routes.
Notably, Moi Garden ACK Church and Immanuel will serve as reserved parking areas for VIPs, VVIPs, diplomats, and service providers.
Public service vehicles will not have access to the main streets of the town, instead, they will drop passengers off in designated areas.
The commissioner said works at Kericho Green Stadium have been finalized and ready for the celebration.
