Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua now says that she is disappointed after visiting the East African Community (EAC) headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.

Karua was in the company of Opposition politicians from across several EAC countries including Uganda and Tanzania, among Pan-African party leaders.

She noted that the disappointment was because of the way they were poorly received at the Office of the EAC Secretary General, Peter Mathuki.

"Visited the headquarters in Arusha today in company of Kizza Besigye Mnyika John of Chadema, Dorothy Semu, of  ACT Wazalendo, Yassine Fall of Pastef Les Patriotes and other Pan African party leaders and disappointed by the very poor handling of visitors by the office of Peter Mathuki," Karua said on X.

Karua noted that the 'poor handling' was because they had not booked an appointment with the East African Community's secretary general.

She insisted that the office of the SG should have communicated immediately if it would have been possible to meet Mathuki or not.

"Even without appointment the office of @pmathuki could have communicated with us promptly on whether it is possible or not to pay him a courtesy call."

Karua commended staff from the East African Court of Justice (EACJ) saying that they were more helpful and courteous.

She added that she hopes the EAC secretariat can learn from them.

"In contrast the @EACJCourt officials we courteous and helpful as were the security staff and the ushers. We salute them and hope that the office of @pmathuki can learn from them."

The former Azimio running mate also stated that it is unfortunate that the work of the EACJ is being hindered by inadequate funding from member states.

She, however, did not reveal the reason for the meeting in Tanzania.
