IS A VOCAL opposition lawmaker on his
way to the yet-to-be-expanded broad-based government? Well, Corridors of Power
has heard that the lawmaker said to be a
critical cog in bringing the two political formations together, will make a surprise entry
to the Cabinet. So excited is the man that
he has allegedly started preparing members
of his staff for the move, which his handlers
believe is now only a matter of time. The
man has been purportedly over the moon
of late about the broad-based arrangement
and does not hesitate to confront anyone
who is against the idea.
TROUBLE IS SEEMINGLY looming for a
senior county official in Nyanza region after
it emerged that he is allegedly supporting a
faction that rivals his sponsoring party. The
official, who has close ties with his party
leader, is said to have funded the launch of
a newly formed political outfit. To confirm
further links to the new party, his wife was
reportedly spotted rocking the new party’s
regalia at the launch. Questions are now
being asked on whether the long-serving
politician is on his way to the new outfit.
A BIG MAN in one of the counties in Western is reportedly working hard to conceal
a little matter, probably not knowing that it
got to this column long ago. Well, an asset
assigned to the fellow was involved in an
accident, thanks to the harsh politics of his
county. It is the nature of the assignment
the asset was undertaking that the man
supposedly desperately wants to keep
tightly guarded. Corridors of Power is
apprised of the clandestine activity and the
headwinds the fellow’s ‘carrier corps’ ran
into while on the errand.
STILL ON COUNTIES, a big man from
one of the devolved units in Eastern was
reportedly left speechless after his supporters told him to consider contesting for
a parliamentary seat in 2027. The senior
officer, who had convened the meeting,
was allegedly told to his face that a suitable
candidate for the governor’s seat had already been identified, but it was neither him
nor the current governor. He was advised
to declare his bid for an MP’s seat early
and save his career from sinking with the
governor.
