King Charles III arrived at the Kariokor Cemetery at 10:52 am accompanied by Queen Camilla.
The King was welcomed by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, Prime Cabinet Minister Musalia Mudavadi and Daniel Achini—manager of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Kenya and East Africa.
The King then laid a wreath first followed by the queen.
A one-minute silence was observed in honour of the fallen soldiers.
Minutes later a trumpet was played, followed by another minute of silence and a final trumpet.
