One person has been killed and several others injured in an early Saturday morning road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The 5 am accident happened in the Mustard area.
Police investigations have commenced to establish its cause.
According to the police, the accident involved three Isuzu vehicles and a Mercedes-Benz trailer.
Those injured and currently receiving treatment at Nakuru Provincial General Hospital (PGH).
The accident along the highway comes barely two days after a similar one at Timboroa area where at least five people lost their lives.
The three died on the spot while two others succumbed in hospital in the accident involving multiple cars.
The accident has now raised the number of deaths since the start of the New Year to over 20.
On New Year’s Day, four people died along the same road in a head-on collision between a private car and a truck.
This came two days after another accident claimed four lives on the same road.
The National Police Service (NPS) has continued to emphasise the need for motorists to exercise extra caution on roads to prevent road crashes.
