Kisii Governor Simba Arati now says that he does not blame South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro for the violence at his rally.

Speaking on Tuesday, Arati said he blames the people for using the young legislator to do their bidding.

The governor said that while he does not blame Osoro, the MP has to be held responsible for the injuries sustained by innocent people.

"I don't blame Osoro. I blame the people behind him. But because he led an activity that got people injured he must be held responsible. Even if I was not governor today, I cannot sit back and watch what happened in Kisii," Arati said on Citizen TV.

Arati said he has no issue with Osoro because they have never wronged one another.

The governor said that he would not allow violence on the people of Kisii again.

Arati insisted that there can only be reconciliation talks once all who were injured get justice.

He also rubbished the reconciliation talks called by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu saying that he has reason to believe that he is among the people using Osoro to push his hidden agenda.

"I'll not participate in tomorrow's meeting it is believed that the Education Cabinet Secretary is behind all this. He cannot be a good arbiter... he wants to be credited as the person that united us and when we leave he will back Osoro to do such."

Osoro on his part said that the violence should not be blamed on him. He said it should be blamed on Arati.

He also said investigations are ongoing and once complete he will sue those who claim he had a gun for slander.

"In any case, the person to blame is the governor. Investigations are ongoing and the truth will be known. The governor said he saw me alight from a vehicle with an AK-47, I don't even know what it looks like. After investigations I'll move to court and sue for slander against those people who are saying I was seen shooting," Osoro said.

The two leaders have been faulting each other after a raid in the county chief's rally.

The rally turned chaotic and at least four people, some of whom were in the convoy, sustained bullet injuries during the skirmishes.

Several cars in the motorcade were also stoned during the melee.
