Two primary school pupils killed by floods in Eldoret

Two pupils have been killed after being swept away by flood water in Eldoret town.

The pupils were walking home when they slipped and fell into a rain water drainage system following heavy rains in the town.

Police retrieved the bodies from a water drainage near Rupa Mall along the Eldoret-Nairobi road.

Uasin Gishu police commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed the incident and said the pupils were from Central Primary School in the town.

"We have managed to retrieve the bodies which have been taken to the morgue", said Mwanthi.

The two were Grade 4 and two learners at the school.
