President William Ruto has called on all Cabinet Secretaries and principal secretaries to go out of their to make a difference in the positions they hold.

Speaking on Wednesday as he closed the second National Executive Retreat in Naivasha, Ruto said that it is their responsibility to lead the way in bringing change.

"If Kenya is to go places it is us to lead the way. That responsibility is bestowed on us by the people of Kenya. I want to implore each one of you to go out of your way and make a difference in the ministry or state department you are in," he said.

The President insisted that it is possible to transform Kenya and that this is their chance to do it.

Ruto added that the challenge Kenya has always had is the challenge of leadership and they must all step forward and do the job.

He said that he is confident his team can deliver on their promises.

"It is possible. I know a government well run can do miracles. We have that opportunity to take our country to the next level. I am confident of the team we have here to be able to get our government working in a manner that transforms our country," Ruto said.

"I want you to know that the real challenge Kenya has is the people to make decisions and provide leadership."

The President assured the CSs and PSs of his full support in what they do.

He said the retreat has allowed the country's top leadership to think together and bring together all aspects of what they think should be the journey ahead.

He added that Kenya is a great country and it should have been far development-wise, had there been good leadership.

"Kenya is a great country and it is something I wholly believe in. We are a country of tremendous potential. Where we are today and where we should have been is a function of leadership," he said

" There are countries that were peers to Kenya today they are way ahead of Kenya."

Ruto advised the Cabinet members to always seek guidance from him, the Deputy President, the Prime Cabinet Secretary or the Head of Public Service whenever they are unsure about certain decisions.

The President said Kenyans have high expectations of the Executive courtesy of his track record and anything short of that will be detrimental to the government.
