Marathoner Kiptum laid to rest
World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum was on Friday laid to rest.
The 24-year-old died in a road accident along Eldoret-Kaptagat road on February 11, 20204.
President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua were among the leaders present to say goodbye to one of Kenya's champion.
Ruto holds Cabinet retreat
President William Ruto held a Joint National Executive Retreat and Parliamentary Group consultative meeting in Naivasha, Nakuru.
According to State House spokesman Hussein Mohammed, President William Ruto will meet Cabinet members, PSs, and the Presidential Advisory Team.
They will review the progress on commitments made by all Ministries & State Departments as set out under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Kiptum's house
President William Ruto ordered the construction of a three-bedroom house in honour of World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum.
The house was constructed in a record six days. It is located at his four-acre Naiberi farm in Uasin Gishu some 20 kilometres from Eldoret town.
Uhuru meets President Suluhu
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday met Tanzania President Samia Suluhu. The two leaders held talks at State House, Zanzibar.
The former President also attended the International Colloquium on Promoting Cross-Cultural, Linguistics and Economic Diplomacy for Sustainable Futures in Dar es Salam.
South B protest
Business activities came to a standstill in South B on Friday morning as residents took to the streets in a protest against alleged land grabbing.
The contested land, earmarked for the construction of a market, became the focal point of their protest.
KWS translocates Elephant bull
The Kenya Wildlife Veterinary and Capture team translocated an adult elephant bull that had taken refuge in a village in Tana River County.
The exercise was led by Dr Dominic Mijele, Dr Mukami Ruoro and capture rangers who assembled at Kitere Village Minhaj secondary school on February 17, 2024.
The elephant had become an attraction sight while feeding in the forest near the village and taking comfort when the villagers tilled their lands.
