Lady dies after falling from 10th floor of Kasarani apartment

A youthful lady has lost her life after allegedly falling from the 10th floor of an apartment in Kasarani.

Detectives from the directorate of criminal investigations Saturday morning arrived at the scene in Thome's White House Apartment, near Safari Brooks Academy.

The incident saw locals mill at the gate of the apartment to witness the tragedy.

Residents of the apartment, which doubles as short-stay accommodation said they heard of commotion in the wee hours of Saturday.

The lady identified as  Joan is said to have met Lawrence Gitonga in one of the entertainment joints along Mirema Drive in Roysambu on Friday night.

They were in the company of another person described as their friend.

The three were seen later leaving the entertainment joint where the friend was dropped as they proceeded to the White House Apartment.

They are said to have made the first stop at a bar near the apartment where they allegedly continued with their drinking spree.

Around 3 am Saturday, the two reportedly checked into the short-stay apartment they had booked on the 10th floor.

Pictures seen by the Star of the room they shortly spent their time in had blood-stained bedsheets.

The walls and floor of the bathroom also had traces of blood signalling a possibility of a fight.

Detectives say Gitonga was found unconscious with his body having 8 stab wounds.

He was rushed to a hospital in Nairobi where he is undergoing treatment.

Police have launched a probe into the matter.
