The National Dialogue Committee on Friday handed over its report to President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.
The team was led by co-chairmen Kalonzo Musyoka and Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah.
Leader of Minority in the National Assembly Opiyo Wandayi, Malindi MP Amina Mnyazi and Nyamira Senator Okong’o Mogeni among other members of the dialogue team were also present.
The team handed over the report to Ruto after visiting Opposition Leader Raila Odinga at his Upper Hill office on a similar mission.
At Raila’s office, Ichung’wah said the dialogue team addressed about 90 per cent of the issues they were tasked to look into.
“The few issues we could not agree on, we referred them to you and President William Ruto. But the most important thing for the team and the nation is not to forget the things that led us to the dialogue table,” he added.
He expressed optimism that the issues the team referred to the President and Opposition leader will eventually be addressed through dialogue.
Raila said there should be no changes during implementation of the report, including when legislating proposals.
He assured that Azimio will act in good faith and support the process to its logical conclusion.
Raila thanked members from both sides of the talks for the commitment and dedication to national duty that they displayed.
