Kapsabet Boys High School bus has been involved in an accident at Patkawanin along Karbaret-Marigat Road in Baringo County.
Confirming the same, Baringo County Commissioner Stephen Kutwa said two people have died and several others injured.
"One teacher and one student were fatally injured, five students were seriously injured while 19 others were slightly injured," a police report reads in part.
The injured students have been rushed to Kabarnet and Marigat Mission hospitals, and Baringo County Referral Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased have been moved to Kabarnet level 4 hospital mortuary.
The bus, which was ferrying 61 students and a teacher, was headed to Marigat and upon reaching the location of the accident, the driver lost control and veered off the road.
Police say the vehicle rolled several times and landed at the bottom of a steep slope.
Kenya Red Cross has also confirmed the tragedy, adding that "Our response team, alongside the County Ambulance crew, is currently at the scene".
Motorists have been advised to be careful while approaching the scene.
