The ODM party has published guidelines elucidating requirements for voters and aspirants ahead of grassroots elections slated to start on Saturday, April 27.
In a statement on Friday, the National Elections Board (NEB) said the first phase of elections will be conducted across nine counties in a staggered manner as resolved by the Central Committee.
Kwale, Busia and Siaya counties will be the first to hold their elections on Saturday, April 27.
Kajiado, Migori and Wajir counties will follow on Monday, April 29, while Kisii, Vihiga and Murang’a will conduct their polls on Tuesday, April 30.
The board said it shall announce the schedule of the remaining counties in due course.
“Only party members registered as life members or ordinary members shall participate in the ODM party grassroots elections either as voters or aspirants,” the NEB said.
Members can verify their membership details by dialling *483*036#.
The board added that a member can only participate in the election as a voter or aspirant in the polling unit where they registered as a voter.

“The message should contain the following details; full name, ID No.; elective post; polling station; ward and constituency,” NEB said.
“The communication above must reach the board before the close of business on Friday, April 19, 2024.”
The board said 20 positions are up for grabs for each of the four committees at each polling unit.
The units are Mainstream, Women's League, Youth League and Disability League.
Positions to be contested in each unit include chairperson, secretary, organizing secretary, treasurer and their deputies.
Also to be elected will be women, youth, disability and marginalized representatives and committee members.
“The election methods to be used shall include consensus or casting of ballot by party members. The elections will be conducted between 10 am and 2 pm on the day of the election,” the election board stated.
It advised members to read and acquaint themselves with the guidelines ahead of the grassroots elections.
“In order to guarantee a credible process, we urge our party members to continuously engage the National Elections Board for any clarifications via the official email and phone numbers provided.”
