First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has attributed Kenya Kwanza government's success to prayers.
The First Lady said President William Ruto's government has withstood all manner of challenges through prayers.
"Today we have stood strong because God gave us this government. When there was drought we prayed and God gave us rains. It is through prayers that the Shilling has strengthened."
Mama Rachel spoke on Saturday during the launch of empowerment projects for women, youth and people with disabilities in Kajiado.
"Kajiado was known for receiving relief food but now it is one of the counties that distributes food," she said.
Mama Rachel revealed that during her trips to foreign countries, she noticed that they do not begin their meetings with prayers.
She added that Kenyans should be grateful for the prayer culture that has been cultivated in the country.
"Yesterday I was telling some people that I have had the opportunity to travel to other countries in the world and other African countries. When we have meetings, there are usually no prayers conducted," she said.
"Let us never take it for granted that in a state function, we can have prayers. You may take it for granted but it is not usual."
The First Lady called on the religious leaders and the church to pray for the country.
She said that economic empowerment promotes progress and growth that enables individuals to provide for themselves and their families.
Mama Rachel said Sh19 million worth of equipment was handed to Maasai Technical Training Institute in Kajiado County through the National Government Affirmative Action Plan (NGAAF).
