Police probe murder, suicide incident of Nyamira couple

Police in Nyamira are investigating a murder, and suicide incident in Nyamira County.

According to a police report, on Friday, two dead bodies were found at Manga Trading Centre in Manga Sub County.

Police from Sengera Police Station were informed of the incident where a boy came home from school to find that all doors were locked.

He then accessed the house through a window only to find his father, Dennis Omboto Kebaso, 40, hanging from the troughs of the house.

The boy went out and informed his aunt. When they went back, they noticed that the mother, Rebecca Kemunto Kebaso, 35, was also dead in the other room.

Police said she was found in the kitchen with blood oozing from the back of her head and adjacent to her was an axe believed to have been the murder weapon.

"She is believed to have been murdered by the husband who in turn committed suicide," police said.

They added that it was established from the aunt that the deceased persons were having domestic issues.

The bodies have since been moved to Christamarianne Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Boda boda rider fatally stabbed in Meru County

Elsewhere in Meru County, Police are investigating an incident in which a boda boda rider is alleged to have been stabbed by an unknown assailant near Mega Supermarket.

Police said the incident occurred on Saturday at around 12:31 am.

The assailant is said to have fled away after the alleged stabbing.

Police said they were called to take the victim to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Meru Level 5 Hospital.

"He had severe injuries on the private parts and had no identification documents," police said.

The body has since been moved to Meru Level 5 Hospital Mortuary.

Man fatally stabbed in Kitui County

In Kitui County, police are investigating a murder case where a man's body was found in Kalalani village.

The June 6, incident, which occurred at around 10:50 pm was reported by the Waldena location assistant chief.

Abdikadir Hassan aged 30 years old was found lying in a pool of blood, with a deep stab wound on the right thigh.

"The deceased had a confrontation with one Amnisa Mohammed aged 18 years over a Muslim cape which resulted in the suspect stabbing him with a knife jointly with his mother Halima Kalamso who held the deceased tightly as her son stabbed him," police said.

They said the duo ran away and left the deceased bleeding profusely and as a result, he succumbed to the injury.

No murder object was recovered at the scene.

The body was removed to Mutomo level four hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. 

Man allegedly kills wife in Makueni County

In Makindu Sub County of Makueni County, police in Kavete station arrested a man in the murder of his wife.

According to a police report, on Saturday the man allegedly murdered his wife with a panga.

Police officers visited the scene and found the deceased lying on the bed in a pool of blood with a dip cut on the neck and hand.

It was established that the motive of the incident was family affairs.

The police recovered the murder weapon from the pit latrine and the suspect was arrested.

The body was removed to Makindu Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
