President William Ruto’s aide Farouk Kibet has called on Kenyans to exercise tolerance towards legislators who are in support of the Finance Bill 2024.

Speaking at ACK Soimining Church in Nandi County on Sunday, Farouk said MPs had been elected and should be allowed to play their roles.

He said they know where the country is headed socially, politically and economically.

He said there was no need for Kenyans to harass and intimidate MPs or other leaders who support the Finance Bill.

Farouk said the MPs have the mandate to make decisions in Parliament through voting and other procedures.

“The MPs are adults and make informed decisions. Both those who supported or rejected the Finance Bill have the democratic right to do so and there was no need for them to be harassed at public meetings,” Farouk said.

At the same time, he said President William Ruto was a caring leader who can not ignore the views of Kenyans on the Finance Bill.

Kibet said youth should not be misled to engage in protests yet the same Finance Bill had provisions that would help to tap their potential.

“Our President is a caring and listening leader and we ask that Kenyans including youth should be patient as he works to grow our economy,” Farouk said.

He said the protests by the youth should be done within the law and that those with views on the bill had various ways to contribute to the same.

Farouk said the bill once enacted would support local industries to grow and create jobs for youth.

He said Kenyans were using imported goods which can easily be manufactured locally thus creating jobs for the youth.

He said the president was having sleepless nights as he works on strategies to revive the economy.

“Our President has been very clear on the vision he has for this country and he is not a leader who can ignore the same people he leads,” Farouk said.

He urged MPs and all leaders to support the President and focus on development.

Farouk cautioned Kenyans to remain united and avoid anyone who preaches tribalism.

He further urged the church to pray for the President and continued stability of the country.

He urged professionals from various parts of the country to also support development at the grassroots level.
