Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen has responded to whether he would like to go back to elective politics.

According to the CS, he does not know yet, but it will not be soon.

Murkomen said that his focus is currently on making an impact from the position he holds in the current administration.

He added that all in all, he remains grateful to God for giving him the chance to serve the country as a CS.

"I don't know. I live one day at a time. My focus at the moment is to leave a last legacy in the responsibilities I have.

"I am grateful to God that he gave me a chance to serve at this point and at this level. Elective position? I don't know, not in the near future," Murkomen said on Obinna TV.

Before he was appointed CS by President William Ruto, Murkomen was Elgeyo Marakwet Senator.

He had been elected to serve for a third term before he resigned to take up the CS role.

In his second term as senator, under the Jubilee administration led by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto as deputy then, Murkomen served as leader of the Majority in the Senate.

He was also one the most vocal and vibrant debaters in the Senate.

During the interview, the Transport CS  maintained that he has kept his vow of serving Kenyans diligently, something he said he is proud of.

He said in the two years he has been a member of the Cabinet, not one person has come out to accuse him of engaging in corruption.

Murkomen said he is proud of keeping this promise, and no one should feel sorry for him at all.

"One thing I'm very proud of is that in two years I have kept my vow that I was not going to engage myself in corrupt activities and scandals.

"When people are feeling sad for me I have told them one thing, there is a silver lining in this discussion and it is this, two years down the line nobody, not a single person has accused me of corruption."

Murkomen also addressed other issues including those touching on his docket and plans he has for the country, among others.
