The two were reassigned in changes announced by President William Ruto.

“The National Police Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified serving police officers who wish to be considered for the position of Deputy Inspector General, Kenya Police Service and Deputy Inspector General, Administration Police Service,” a notice seen by the Star reads.

All interested and qualified applicants have until July 17, at 5 pm to submit their applications.

“Manua applications should be hand delivered to the office of the Commission Secretary/Chief Executive officer situated at 9th floor CBK Pension Towers.

“Online applications should be e-mailed in PDF format to [email protected],” NPSC said.

This comes after Deputy Inspector General Administration Police Service, Noor Gabow, was redeployed within the Public Service.

Until his redeployement, Gabow was also the leader of the Kenyan reconnaissance team to Haiti which toured the Caribbean country ahead of the deployment of the first tranche of 400 officers on June 25.

Deputy Inspector General, of Kenya Police Service, Douglas Kanja was on the other hand named Acting Inspector General of National Police Service.

The handover ceremony was held at the NPS Headquarters Friday afternoon.

He was also a commissioner at the National Police Service Commission.

Previously, Kanja served as commandant of the General Service Unit from 2018.
