Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has comforted Reverend Kathy Kiuna following the death of her husband Bishop Allan Kiuna saying God will be her comforter.

Bishop Kiuna was laid to rest at Thindigua in Kiambu county on Wednesday in a funeral ceremony attended by dignitaries including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The service was held at the Paradise JCC in Thindigua, a week after Kiuna succumbed to Multiple Myeloma on July 9 after a six-year battle with bone marrow cancer.

In her tribute, Pastor Dorcas told Rev Kathy that God is the finisher of all He begins.

“I would like to speak to my sister Kathy and remind you what our brother would be saying now; before the foundations of the Earth, this God has the last say and He will make a way,” she said.

Bishop Kiuna was the presiding preacher at his Parklands Jubilee Christian Church. He was 57.

He first publicly shared his battle with cancer in 2019, a year after the diagnosis.

During a memorial service held on Monday at Faith Evangelistic Ministry Family Church in Karen, Kathy revealed that her husband had a premonition that his time was up and kept saying “I want to go home” and would tell her that a host of angels were coming to take him.

In her message of comfort, Pastor Dorcas told Kathy that even before the predicament that took away a man she considered her best friend, He had already made a way for her and her children.

“He will keep you and all I ask you is to retain three things; faith, hope and love, the greatest is love,” she said.

“Love what he loved, move with the move of God, in the vision of God, in the dream that he taught you to live in because in six years God allowed him to mentor you and to give you the way and the answers to the mysteries that you needed to take JCC as a movement to the next level,” Pastor Dorcas said.

In his tribute, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who also delivered President William Ruto’s tribute eulogised Bishop Kiuna as a visionary religious and transformational leader, who touched the lives of many people through his kindness.

He said Kiuna has left an enduring legacy that Kathy must now build on.

"Bishop Kiuna was a great man of God. For 25 years he has built a great church with serious membership all over the world. I assure Reverend Kathy of our prayers and solidarity in this difficult moment,” he said.

In his condolence message, Ruto described the late Bishop Kiuna as a true friend and an extraordinary man of God; a firm faith leader whose sermons were stimulating, authentic and targeted.

“Bishop Kiuna was a General of the word of God. Beyond the pulpit, he was focused, hardworking and played the lead role in uplifting the needy," the President said.
