Lands Cabinet Secretary nominee Alice Wahome has disclosed that she is worth Sh327,650,000.

Speaking when she appeared before the National Assembly Appointments Committee for vetting Wahome said the wealth is shared between her and her husband.

"It's mine and my husband. It's Sh327,650,000," she said.

Wahome explained that the increase in net worth was a result of her properties appreciating in value.

She added that a tenant who owed her also paid a lumpsum of around Sh14 million in March.

"It is the properties that have appreciated and there was one tenant who was not paying rent and he paid about Sh14 million in March.

When she was first vetted to join the Cabinet, Wahome said she was worth Sh218, 400,000.

The former Kandara MP during vetting in October 2022 said her assets included family properties she co-owns with her husband.

She told the committee that her sources of income at the time included salary as an MP which she received until September and fuel allowance of Sh100,000 from her law firm.

"And from these properties, some of them are in my name, I get about Sh500,000 a month," she added.

Wahome revealed that she had been practicing law at the Wahome and Akedi Advocates firm during her free time, which she said was not much.

She was a co-partner in the firm with her daughter.
