Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee has said that he strongly believes that he is suitable for reappointment to the ministry.
Speaking during his vetting in Parliament, Kindiki said he is suitable because during the months he was in office, he was able to keep the country safe.
"I am suitable for reappointment because, during those 21 months, I have been able to keep the country fairly safe, especially in the fight against terror," he said.
Kindiki who responded to questions from members of the Committee on Appointments said while there have been threats of terror, under his watch, the country has been fairly stable.
"Previously we had an escalation of terror and in the past two years, we have had stability," he said.
"I believe I am suitable because the crime of banditry has been reduced in my estimation by 75 per cent. I have visited all 47 counties, some numerous times."
Kindiki insisted that he has been diligent in his work and has conducted himself within the parameters of Article 73 of the Constitution.
He is the first to be vetted. Five CSs are set to face the vetting panel this Thursday.
