A multi-agency team on Thursday night raided the home of businessman Jimi Wanjigi in Muthaiga.
The team had camped outside the house seeking to get into the compound for hours before they finally broke in.
They then embarked on a search in the house while looking for Wanjigi and what they termed as more evidence.
They did not find him by midnight.
As they entered the house, the family of Wanjigi present at that time was terrified.
In a video seen by the Star, a contingent of police made their way into the house while heavily armed.
The family members who were seemingly terrified cried for help.
The wife of Wanjigi was heard repeatedly pleading with the police not to shoot her.
"Don't shoot me, do not shoot me, don't shoot me, do not shoot me in my house, " she said.
However, the team of multi-agency police moved in as they occupied the house.

The mother of Wanjigi Mary Wambui exonerated her son from any criminal involvement even as she described his latest tribulations as unfortunate.
In a video seen by the Star, a visibly concerned mother expressed sadness that the raid at her son's home occurred just a month after Jimi's father was laid to rest.
She emphasised that since childhood, Wanjigi has never been a criminal, but has always been a loving person.
"I know him very well since his childhood and he's never been a criminal. He's a loving son, father and husband. We wish what happened to him, everybody will open their eyes and see that he is innocent," she said.
Wanjigi claimed that he is not the owner of a motor vehicle that was allegedly found with tear gas canisters during the Nane Nane demonstrations in Nairobi.
Wanjigi in a case filed at the Milimani Law Courts says he is being framed in a bid to settle political scores.
The High Court has since issued a temporary order stopping the police from arresting and curtailing the movements Wanjigi pending the determination of a case he filed.
Justice Bahati Mwamuye said in the event Wanjigi could have been arrested or detained as the application was pending hearing in court, the officers should immediately set him free.
The Judge certified the matter filed by Wanjigi as urgent and directed him to serve the IG, DCI and ODPP by the close of business on August 12.
The respondents will then file their responses before August 14.
The case will be mentioned on August 16 for the purpose of taking a hearing date.
