Police are looking for a suspect in the murder of his wife in Mukuru slums, Nairobi.
The body of Maria Anami was Monday morning found in a pool of water with a stone placed on it.
This was after she had been hit in the head and died moments later in an altercation with her husband.
According to police, the husband had called a relative to inform him his wife was dead.
This was after he allegedly engaged her in an altercation over claims of promiscuity.
The alleged assailant told the relative he had found the woman with another man prompting an altercation that turned fatal.

He then pulled the body into a terrace with water behind Mukuru Kwa Njenga Primary School field and put a stone on it to sink.
He called his uncle to inform him of the incident before he fled, police said.
Police visited the scene and found the female body of the 25-year-old woman lying in the water with a stone placed on the chest.
It was also revealed the accused is a jailbird and efforts to trace him are ongoing.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said the body of the woman was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
“We are investigating murder in this issue,” he said.
Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the road in the Uthiru area, Nairobi.

The body of the man aged about 35 did not have any visible injuries at the time of the discovery, police said.

Police said the girl died at the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital where she had been rushed to for treatment following the August 10 incident.
Those behind the assault are yet to be found and police said they are pursuing good leads on the same.
