Husband wanted as 23-year-old Bungoma woman found dead

A woman was murdered in a domestic fight in Kimilili, Bungoma County. 

Police said they are looking for the husband of the deceased Belinda Wanjala, 23, over the murder that happened on August 17.

The body of Belinda was found in a pool of blood in her house with deep cuts in the head, both legs and hands.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said.

A relative had gone to visit the couple when he realized there was no response from the house in Maruti village.

It was then he found the body lying on the floor of her sitting room with deep cuts on the head, both legs and the left hand.

The door of the house was open at that time and the man was missing.

Police visited the scene and processed it before moving the body to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

A team visited the scene on Sunday as part of the probe into the murder even as the hunt for the suspect goes on.

The team has appealed to the suspect to surrender for grilling.

Cases of murder over domestic fights are on the rise amid calls on parties to solve them amicably.

Elsewhere, police are holding a man after he allegedly hacked his girlfriend to death in a domestic fight in the Pakawa area, Gilgil, Nakuru County.

Police who visited the scene said they found the body of Milicent Akinyi lying in a pool of blood after the August 18 incident.

The team said they were alerted there was a murder incident at the scene before visiting and confirmed the same.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known. The suspect told police he differed with the woman over domestic issues prompting a fight that turned fatal.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Police said they also collected a number of exhibits from the house, which they intend to use in their probe and prosecution.
