Missing 7-year-old Nyandarua boy found dead in a well

The body of a seven-year-old boy who was missing was found in a well in the Ngorika area of Nyandarua County. 

Police said the PP1pupil at Ngorika Special School was reported missing on Tuesday, October 9 before the body was discovered five days later.  

The boy was last seen walking home from school and was later reported missing after he did not return home, his family and police said. 

The incident was reported to the police and posted on various social media platforms to help locate the child. 

It wasn't until Monday night, five days later when the child's body was discovered floating in a well in the Wiyumiririe area, police said. Investigations are ongoing to determine the possible cause of death.

Police said they are investigating among others, murder in the case.

Elsewhere, police are investigating a murder in a case where the body of a 63-year-old man was found in a farm owned by a former senior police officer in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County.

The former police boss told police two of his workers were passing near his greenhouse when they stumbled on the body of the man.

Police said the body of Kakungu Muteti Mbusu, 63 was found in a pool of blood with visible deep cuts on his face, back of the head, and right hand. The body was taken to SultanHamud sub-county mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.

The workers present were grilled as part of the probe into the murder.

In Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi County, one Joseph Mwangangi, 47 was found dead in his house. Police said the body was found on the bed with his clothes soaked with blood.

The body had a deep cut on the forehead extending to both lips and fingers. The body was taken to the Marimanti Level Four hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. 

Police in Gem Wagai sub-county are investigating the death of one Bartholomew Obita Odera, 78, whose body was discovered in a murram quarry in the Wagwer area of the Ulamba sub-location in North West Gem.

Villagers discovered the naked body on Monday evening before reporting it to police. Police said the man is believed to have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped in the quarry.

The body was moved to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, with a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
