Arrest

In a major breakthrough, detectives from Kilimani arrested three suspects in connection with a high-profile burglary that occurred in Westlands, Nairobi, a month ago.

The suspects were two ladies and a man.

The suspects, who were found hiding in Kawangware, are believed to have stolen cash and valuables worth millions from a South Sudanese national residing along Rahpta Road, Westlands.

The incident, which took place on September 24, saw the homeowner return to find her house in disarray, her housekeeper missing, and USD 24,500 in cash, along with electronics such as an iPhone 15, a Samsung Z Flip, and several pieces of jewelry, stolen.

The theft was promptly reported to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices in Kilimani, prompting an immediate investigation.

According to police reports, a forensic trail led investigators to the suspects' hideout, where a variety of newly acquired items believed to be proceeds from the burglary were recovered.

The recovered items from the suspects included a Boxer motorcycle, a 55-inch Vitron TV, a Hanmac microwave, an HP laptop, an NNix cooker oven, and a 6kg Pro gas cylinder.

“Detectives seized several high-value items believed to have been purchased with proceeds from the crime,” a DCI stated.

The list of recovered goods also included a five-seater sofa, a mattress, two watches, and three brand-new Samsung A50 phones.

These items, alongside an agreement for the purchase of a parcel of land valued at Sh423,000 in Kapkangani, Nandi County, are now under investigation.

While the suspects remain in custody, authorities continue their search for possible accomplices and any remaining stolen items.

In a different incident, DCI arrested three suspects involved in stupefying revelers.

"The arrests were made following a tip-off received through the Fichua Kwa DCI hotline, where a victim reported being drugged, robbed, and having money withdrawn from his M-Pesa account."

The swift investigation led to the capture of two men and a woman.

"They are currently in lawful custody, awaiting arraignment," DCI said.
