Evangelist Teresia Wairimu has maintained that she is not in conflict with President William Ruto or the First Family.
Addressing faithful, Wairimu explained that she has offered a prayer “because God has put a burden in my heart to pray for the country against poverty and corruption.”
She insisted that her prayer is that any corrupt person must go home whether they like it or not.
“I have walked a journey with my President from 2010 to where he is today. I will continue praying and anybody who is corrupt, I am not sparring you,” she stated.
Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto have frequently worshipped at Wairimu’s Faith Evangelistic Ministries (FEM).
She was recently in the headlines for openly criticising the Kenya Kwanza government.
She later stated that there exists no rift between her and the President.
The bishop made clarification days after she acknowledged the persistent conflicts within the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Wairimu reflected on the church’s initial support for Ruto. stating that their confidence had waned.
“I know most of us were watching television. We were so embarrassed, extremely embarrassed,” she remarked at church service on Sunday.
Wairimu criticised MPs for prioritising discussions on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua instead of focusing on economic growth.
She added that her future support for the President in the next election would depend on careful consideration.
“As a voter, I’m embarrassed. In the next election, you must convince me. We are sick and tired of noise. We want performers; we want workers,” she said.
She urged the Kenya Kwanza administration to prioritise the nation’s interests and those who voted for him.
