Police are investigating an incident in which a 35-year-old man drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel where he was playing with other revellers in Diani, Kwale County.
The victim was with other revellers at the resort when he ventured into the swimming pool.
Police and witnesses said the group was having fun at the pool when the victim went missing.
He was later found and rescued having drowned and rushed to Palm Beach hospital while unconscious, where he passed on while being attended to.
Police said the body was moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
In Ahero, Kisumu County, the body of a man was found in a trench after a suspected drowning.
The incident happened in the Kakola sub-location and involved one Joseph Odhiambo Ojwang, 45, police said.
The body was lying in a water drainage trench without any visible injuries, police said.
The body was moved to the Ahero sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in an abandoned quarry in Dandora, Nairobi.
The body was identified as that of Kelvin Ochieng, 38 from the Korogocho area.
He is said to be a casual labourer in the area, police said.
The cause of the death of the man is yet to be known, police said adding it is suspected he was killed elsewhere and body dumped at the scene.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
In Kisii, Kenyenya area, the body of a woman was found in her house.
The body was found next to a bed in a kneeling position, police and witnesses said.
Police officers visited the scene and it was established that the deceased Clemencia Kerebi, 80 was last seen on Saturday. The body was discovered the following day.
The body was moved to the Ogembo sub-county hospital morgue pending autopsy.
