Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura is set to give an update on matters of national importance. The press conference will take place at KICC.

Mwaura is expected to address among others the issues raised by the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) on Wednesday.

They had condemned the Kenya Kwanza administration as increasingly out of touch with the realities facing ordinary Kenyans.

They have, however, come to harsh criticism with MPs hitting back at them for labeling them as corrupt and challenging the clerics to submit evidence against them to investigative agencies.

State of Judiciary report

Chief Justice Martha Koome will today present the State of the Judiciary and the Administration of Justice Annual Report (SOJAR) 2023-2024.

The event will happen at the Milimani Law Courts, Ceremonial Hall.

Mwangaza case

A Nairobi court will today rule on whether it will set aside an order blocking the ouster of Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

The ruling is to be delivered by Justice Bahati Mwamuye.

Kawira, opposing the application, argued in court that she is the people's choice and should be allowed to complete her full term in office.

She appeared in court the last time the matter was being heard with her spouse Murega Baichu and strongly opposed an application by the Senate to set aside orders blocking her impeachment saying the Senate has no mandate to change the will of the people.

Through advocates Elias Mutuma and Elisha Ongoya, Kawira urged Justice Bahati Mwamuye to uphold the decision of Meru voters who chose her against her opponents.

The court heard that the impeachment motion against her was never about substance but a determination to remove her from office by all means.

She said if the court fails to intervene and confirm the orders, she will be hounded out of office and her deputy sworn in as soon as possible.
